Privacy Policy
Resto POS · Last updated: 4 July 2026
Resto POS ("the App", "we", "us") is a point-of-sale and restaurant-management
application for small restaurants, cafes and dhabas. This policy explains what
information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using
the App you agree to this policy.
1. Who this policy is for
The App is used by restaurant owners and their staff (cashiers) to run
their business. The data in the App belongs to the restaurant that operates it. The App
is a business tool and is not intended for children.
2. Information we collect
- Business / account information — restaurant name, city, address,
owner name, contact phone, and the license key used to activate the software.
- Staff information — staff name, phone (optional), role (Owner/Cashier),
and a 6-digit login PIN. The PIN is never stored in plain text — only a salted,
one-way hash is kept.
- Customer information (optional) — a customer name and phone number
may be entered by staff on an order/bill if the restaurant chooses to record it.
- Business operational data — orders, bills, sales, payment method,
expenses, inventory, recipes and shift/session records.
- Images — dish/menu photos and a restaurant logo that staff add using
the device camera or photo gallery.
- Device information — a randomly generated device identifier and the
platform name, used to manage which devices are signed in to a restaurant.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, browsing history, or
advertising identifiers. We do not use the App for advertising.
3. How the information is stored
- On your device — most data is stored locally in an on-device database
so the App works offline. The license key is kept in the device's encrypted secure storage.
- On our server — data is synced to our backend (hosted on Amazon Web
Services, EC2) to enable licensing, multi-device use and reporting.
- Backups — encrypted backups of a restaurant's data are stored on
Cloudflare R2 so data can be restored if a device is lost or replaced.
4. How we use the information
- To provide core POS features (billing, reports, inventory, expenses, P&L).
- To verify the software license / subscription and unlock the App.
- To sync data across the restaurant's devices and create restore-able backups.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
We access the information only for these purposes. We do not sell your data.
5. Sharing
We share data only with the infrastructure providers that operate our service on our
behalf — Amazon Web Services (server hosting) and Cloudflare
(backup storage) — and only as needed to run the App. We may disclose information if required
by law. We do not share your business or customer data with any other third party.
6. Security
- Staff PINs are stored as salted one-way hashes (never in plain text).
- The license key is held in the device's encrypted secure store.
- Access to a restaurant's data requires its license key plus a staff PIN, and
Owner-only areas (reports, P&L, expenses) are role-restricted.
- Backups are stored on Cloudflare R2.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data
and continue to strengthen our security.
7. Data retention
We keep a restaurant's data while its account/subscription is active and in backups for a
reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion at any time (see below).
8. Your rights & choices
You can request to access, correct or delete your data. To request deletion of your
account and associated data, follow the instructions on our
Data Deletion page.
9. Children
The App is a business tool intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the
"Last updated" date above.
